Due to the strong popularity of the model, Thunderbird clocks remain a
large part of our business. We have serviced over 2,200 T-bird clocks of
all years and are pleased to be able to offer specialized clock restoration
services specifically catering to T-bird enthusiasts.

Both 1955 (6 volt positive ground) and 1956
(12 volt negative ground) T-bird clocks were
manufactured exclusively by Motochron and
appear identical in cosmetic appearance.
These clocks can be serviced or converted
to a quartz movement. Cosmetic restoration
is also available.

This clock is the same as was used in the full-
size '56 Ford car. Most were produced by
Borg. Some Westclox clocks produced for the
'56 Ford have found their way into the '57
Birds. We can restore either clock movement
to original specs (provided the movement is
intact and serviceable), or update it to a
modern quartz movement. Although Borg and
Westclox clocks appear similar, most parts are
not interchangeable between the two.

These clocks were mostly manufactured by
Borg, although a few Motochron clocks exist.
We can restore your original clock movement
to original specs (provided the movement is
intact and serviceable), or update it to a
modern quartz movement. All three years used
the same clock casing with changes only in the
coloration of the dial.

These clocks were supplied by Westclox and
utilized an early ('61-'62) and a later ('62-'63) style
clock movement. Although the two versions
appear identical on the surface, the two
mechanisms are not interchangeable. Since there
are variables in the cost to service each, you may
need to determine which version you have. A
simple method is to check the color of the power
terminal insulating grommet on the back of the
clock casing. A pink grommet signifies an earlier
movement, a black grommet means the later type.
